Freelang Dictionary is, as its name implies, a dictionary software that allows you to search the translation of many words in different languages. First, you need to download and install the core program, which is very light and non-intrusive. Once you have done that, you must download and install the language packages you need. The variety of the languages available is truly amazing, and ranges from many of the most commonly spoken languages such as French, Spanish and German, to others than can be considered as "exotic", such as Blackfoot, Cherokee, Esperanto, Innuit, Mexican Nahuatl and Brazilian Maxakali, to name a few.
A very interesting feature of this software is the possibility for creating practice lists that allow you to learn and practice a vocabulary selected by you. For example, if you are a photographer wanting to learn some words of your trade in, say, Spanish, you can create a list containing the words "photography", "film", "exposure", and so on. Then, in the Practicing mode, the program will show you the list with a blank space for you to write the word in the selected language. This allows you to learn a second language by knowing the translation of the terms choosen by you. And, best of all, the program and the language packs are absolutely free.
